Shakes or Wobbles problem
2006 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 42000K miles

THIS CAR IS ALMOST BRAND NEW WITH THE KM. WE HAVE HAD THIS SHAKING PROBLEMS FROM THE START BUT HONDA SAID IT WAS EITHER THE TIRES BALANCE OR ALIGNEMENT. I FINALLY CHANGED THE TIRES TO MICHELIN AND WENT OK FOR A WHILE, BUT SOMETIMES NOTICED THAT CAR WAS SHAKING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND I WAS TELLING MYSELF, HOW CAN A CAR GOES OFF BALANCE ONE DAY AND OK THE FOLLOWING DAY. MECHANICS AT ANOTHER GARAGE SAIS IT LOOKS LIKE A TORQUE PROBLEM. HONDA DEALER SAIS HE NEVER HEARD THIS BEFORE ON THIS MODEL. HAVE AN APPOINTMENT IN OCTOBER. ANY IDEAS WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS SHAKING? ALSO THERE IS A HUMMING NOISE STARTING AS WELL.

REGARDS

Hi Robert,

Based on your description of the symptoms, it is not easy to indicate what could be wrong.

Possible causes for vibrations depends on condition and speed.
1. Tires out of balance.
2. Rims out of round, deformed.
3. Drive axles out of balance due to lack of lubricants.
4. Transmission and/or related faults.
