I have a 2001 Honda Civic with 104000 miles. After a cold start the car hesitates when shifting from 1st to second gear. Pushing the accelerator harder doesnt' help. I have to let off the accelerator and then after it will accelerate and runs fine. I thought maybe it was the fuel filter but the honda dealer said that there is no fuel filter to change. What do you think?
thanks

Hi gizmo0706,

I don't think it is the fuel filter.

Is the check engine light showing?

I would suspect the Throttle Position Sensor or a faulty O2 sensor. It could be the linear solenoid or a sticking shift control valve. Maybe a ATF fluid change might help.
