What do you want to know about the fuel filter?
Is this a fuel injected or carburetted model?

It is a carbureted model. I am trying to locate where the filter is located. Everything I read states it is acorn shaped and on the firewall, but I think that is a different model or year or the FI model.

For FI models it is near the firerwall. For carburetted models, it is located under the vehicle near the fuel tank. If you look under the vehicle behind the rear wheel ( sorry I forgot left or right side), the filter should be attached to the front corner of the fuel tank flanges. It might be covered with a plastic shield which has to be removed to access.
