2001 Honda Civic Check Engine light came on after maintenance

Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Honda Civic 4 cyl Automatic 112000 miles

My engine mount was broken and had it replaced along with having the oil changed and other fluids topped off. About a week after the engine light came on and my gas mileage plummeted to about half of what it was. Could they have accidentally done something to cause this?

Hi For Jet,

Get a free scan done at Autozone and let me know the EXACT trouble code so I can understand if it could be related to the repair work done.

Actually the light isn't on anymore. I had to fill up and immediately after the light went off

If the light went off after filling up, it could be due to excessive gas fumes leaking through the fuel system.

If the CEL does not come backthen there is nothing to worry about but you can still get a scan done to retrieve the trouble code as it would be recorded in the PCM.
