1998 Honda Civic HELP!

I have a 98 civic dx and when I put it in reverse, it makes a loud scratching sound and will not go into reverse at all. Wondering if you knew about this! Please help! Is this a transmission problem or a sensor problem? What should I do with this problem?

This is most likely an internal transmission problem. I would recommend you take it to a transmission shop to have them diagnose the vehicle. This is not something you can do at home unfortunately.
