1996 Honda Civic EX Keyless door lock system doesn't work

I have replaced the batteries in the lock control on the key chain and transmitter light comes on but nothing seams to work still. The locks open and close inside the vehicle with no problem using the door switch.

The car came with a honda security system. The original stereo was replaced with a sony disc player. Could they have diconnected the security and keyless control wires by mistake??

Thanks for your time.

the factory keyless was in the factory radio when they removed the radio they removed the keyless also. you have to extend the wires on the factory radio and install it under a seat . or yau can have an aftermarket keyless installed for around 100 to 150 dollars i do this for a living so i am positive this is your problem
