1991 Honda Civic Help me please

Kept having to pull over cause the car wouldn't accelerate. Looked under the car and the catalyic converter was cherry red. Got the converter fixed and its still doing the same thing just not as bad. It got so hot that it melted the under carriage. The difference this time though is it started backfiring which it didn't do before. Next question I have is, does the back wheels have bearings if not what does it have?

Sounds like you are either running overly rich your the mechanical or ignition timing is off.

Check to make sure the timing belt has not jumped a tooth. Make sure the injectors are not stuck open, that ignition timing is set properly.

Do all these checks, you will properly find something wrong.
