Honda Accord EX 97 makes noise in reverse

The car runs great, it just makes a high pitch noise when I'm driving in reverse, which it stops sometimes when I tap in the brakes, then it doesn't do it. Any ideas why?

How tight is the emergency brake cable. Kind of sounds related to that. If it is real tight, short pull to engage, try loosening it.
