Hello,
My car has 161,000 miles with orignal front rotors. They have a worn down to the point where they will not pass inspection. Looking at the repair manual it looks like a involved job to replace the rotors by myself. If there is enough meat on the rotors, can they be turned on the car? Or are they llikly to warp?
During light acceleration, barely on the gas I get pinging. Increase the gas and pinging stops. Any ideas?
Thanks for your help,
Eric

You are extremely lucky to have gotten the miles you did on the rotors. Replace them.

The light pinging. Check your fuel you put in an try to stay around a 90 octane or better and see if that helps. I would also suggest that you check the timing of the engine.
