Was having problems with temp gauge rising to H but only for a few seconds then residing back in normal position. My husband replaced the thermostat and it worked for a couple of days only to return of the tem gauge to rise to H, only to fall back into normal position. What could this be? He has check the coolant level, all is fine, he did do the bleed bolt, etc. The car has never actually overheated, just the temp gauge reading like it was.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Chloe Brewster

Exactly when does it overheat? It could be a cooling fan fault or a radiator fault as well.

It has never overheated, just the gauge goes wild and indicates that it is but only for a few seconds and then drops back down to normal.

Should my fan be coming on. Before he changed out the thermostat the fan came on everytime I stopped the car and now it does not. Could this be something. Could it be the sensor.

Also, unrelated to the temp gauge another strange problem arose. Sometimes, not all the times when I go to switch on the left turn signal, it looks to be both left and right signal start flashing. What could this be.

I don't know if this has got anything to do with any of this but here a couple of weeks ago my husband changed out the battery as it went dead and after he changed tht he decided to hose my entire engine down. Could this have anything to do with any of these off the wall things happening.

Please advise.
