When shifting the transmission out of reverse it makes a loud klick noise especially when the engine is cold and the fast idle is still running. When the car warms and is driven for a while the noise gets quiter, and also the transmission seems to like to downshift a little too mutch but seems to work properly.I hope the problem is not with the transmission itself becouse the car is in excellent shape. Any response would be appreciated.

Hi ihx1000000,

Seems the throttle pressure is too high. Recheck the thrans throttle cable adjustment. If it is adjusted too short, it could cause downshifting to be too responsive and late upshifts with minor shifts shocks when shifting into gear or up shifting.

The trans fluid might be due for replacement if it had not been replaced for quite some time.
