Noises problem
1986 Honda Accord 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic high miles

It is an impound car and at 200.00 dollars I wonder if it would be worth buying and have a machanic fix trhe problems. If I buy one off the street they are already 1200.00 to 2000.00 then I go without tuneing it up or giving it the once over real well. I think it is a problem with the black ffluid in tranny but I also think it sat for ove 60 days and things may be gunked up and stuck, SHOULD I BUY it. I wish my parents were alive, at least my jack of all trade father he would say what I need to hear. I need a car I am single with gret 10 year old twins. We need mobility. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Firemen Family,

Without a physical understanding of the vehicle, our views might not be accurate so we can only provide assessment and options.

With a car this age, there are many things that might requires attention and the condition of the trans don't bode well so after buying the vehicle, you have to come up with a additonal money for repairs, at least some priororities.

With the trans fluid being black, it can fail anytime or replacement of the fluids might still get some good mileage out of it so it is a risk that you have to consider. Check around for a replacement trans quotation, at least you understand what to expect if the trans fails.

The call is yours to make and if you have any questions, you are always welcomed to ask them here.
