I just purchased this vehicle and I feel warmth coming from under the steering wheel near my feet. I am just curious if this is normal for these? It's not excessive heat just a bit warm. Also I am curious about how much longer this vehicle could last? It is a one owner with a clean Carfax and good service history. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

As far as how long it can last. The bottom line is a long time yet. However, what people often forget is this. The engine may continue running, but other things wear out. So it really becomes a question of does the vehicle's value outweigh the repair costs.

As far as the heat, we need to determine if it is coming from the heater vent. If it isn't, it could be a rubber grommet that is in the firewall has deteriorated.

Do you only feel the heat when moving?

Let me know.

Hi,

The first thing to do is simply check under the dash to see if there is evidence of an opening in the firewall that could allow engine heat to enter the vehicle.

Do that and let me know what you find.
