Heater and air conditioner mode actuator?

My vehicle listed above Z71 original heat and air mode actuator failed the large gear had two cracks on it so I replaced it with a new one and followed all of the steps of putting it back in but now it blows hot air when the manual dial is moved to cold and cold air when the manual dial is moved to hot. The replacement part comes with the actuator centered so I had to move the shaft to the center so it would go into place, I even did the recalibration process, and nothing changed. So, I’m at a loss, how can I fix this so that when the manual dial is turned on cold it actually blows cold air and vice versa.

To me it sounds like you got a defective mode actuator which the potentiometer got inverted during assembly. Here are the instructions on how to change the mode actuator correctly. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response to the problem so we can see what's going on.
