My clutch went out about two weeks ago. Tranny was fine before. Got car back from mechanic. When its in neutral idol. I hear a small ticking noise. When I put in gear and depress clutch it grinds/whines until I get to a good rolling speed. What could this be? Flex plate? Throwout bearing? Idk

Could be a problem with the clutch parts or installation. Could be the hydraulics still have air in the system. Either way I would just bring it right back to the shop that did it.

It took them 2 weeks to give me back my car and they admitted that they didn't know what they were doing and had to contact bmw several times. Over a clutch installation? I'm pretty handy when it comes to cars and can fix most problems just need to know from a professional opinion. Is it most likely a throw out bearing?

The solution will be found through examination. The transmission may have to come out again so they should be responsible.
