What is the ballpark figure for the replacement of the fuel filter, fuel pump, and fuel relay? Im being charged $850.00.

car wont start. Electrical anylasis was done, no success. Firestone states the factory fuel pump, relay, and filter need to be replaced.

need to know if im being taken advantage of.

All prices and times are gm,
the fuel pump relay 1s $12.00 and.05 in labor

the filter is 18.18 and.05 labor

the fuel pump is 151.30 and 2.0 hrs in labor

by my calculations on labor here based on 100.00 per hr 350.00 in labor and 181.48 in parts thats roughly 531.00

the parts I listed are oem gm and the price is reatil not wholesale meaning the shops pay less and you could go to anydealer and buy these parts at that price,
firestone is probably using aftermarket parts which I do not reccomend especially the fuel pump, price sounds high to me, but calculater their labor rate by the times ai gave you and it should get you close and find out what brand parts they are using, non gm is a nono

thanks, jim
