Noises problem
1993 GMC Sierra V8 Automatic 101K miles

A vent door appears to be popping open and closed when ever I turn the key on and when I turn the key off. It stops after about 30 seconds. I replaced the electric actuator on the driver's end of the ac/heater duct. No luck. I don't think I'm getting voltage to the actuator. Have checked all the fuses I could find including the engine near firewall. Can you tell me where the power for this actuator comes from and if it is fused and where the fuse is located. I can't find a wiring diagram anywhere.

Thanks,
Jack

That is the actuator that is located on the passenger side of the HVAC box, under the dash. Common problem for those years of GM trucks. If you get under the pass die of the dash, turn key on and you can put your hand on it and feel it clicking

Thanks. I found the passenger side actuator that I didn't know was there. Do I have to remove any duct or housing to get to it?

If you are patient and have small hands you can get to both of the screws, otherwise you may need to remove the HVAC plenum enough to access the top mounting screws
