I having a knocking sound from the front drivers side when driving going over bumps in the road, when I go through dips(even slowly), no noise when I am turning. I am also having issures with my oil gage bouncing frantically until I press on the gas then it's is barried at 80 or more until I left off the gas then it bounces again, the car seems to want to die when it dips down really low, but then it bounces back up and the car is fine again. Another problem I am having is a fuel problem I am guessing, I press on the gas to excelerate quickly, and it does not register that I am pressing on the gas until letting off the gas, or up to a minute of holding the down. If someone could get back to me with some ideas. Another thing I for got is that when I start it in the mornings it smokes white smoke, then stops after I have started is this normal for older cars?

Noises are hard to diagnose here on the computer. It sounds as if you havev a frt axle roblem, look for a cut boot on one of the axle shafts as that lets the grease out and the axle joints go bad. If your gugages bounce it could be a ba or not tight ground wire so when you bounce it works and then it doesn't. Your tps switch may be sticking as well causing the lack of acceleration. Also there is a a vacuum hose going to the map sensor on the dash and that gets soft and sucks together not allowing the map to get any vacuum. Anddon't worry about the white smoke, it's an old car. Youi should take this to a pro so he can read for any codes.
