Cruise Controll Problems

I own a 1995 Saturn SC2, it has 107,300 miles on it, and still runs great, I drive to and from school every day and the cruise controll has always worked fine. One day it just shut it self off and woulnt stay on for more then a few seconds, at lower speeds it would work for longer. The next day the cruise controll didnt work at all. The cruise controll setup has a indicator light on it that is lit when in the on position, and it is still working. I checked the fuse and it isnt the problem. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it.
