Dashlights won't function

My '97 cavalier coupe has no dashlight function, nor can I use the interior light control. The interior light does come on when you open the door and go out after a timed interval. Also, when you turn the headlights on the radio display goes dim so it can barely be seen. And a newer problem, both my blinkers are blinking too fast when in use. We've checked the fuses and they are fine, no replacements needed. What else can I check to find the root of these problems? I have to get this car fixed in order to pass safety inspections.

It really sounds like a fuse. The dash lights and tail lights on some cars are on same circuit. The radio im not sure of. Take a test light to all the fuses sometimes they look good but are blowen. Also turn your headlights on and see if your tail lights work!

The radio is supposed to do that, when it's dark it's not as bright, but you need it brighter in the day time to see the display. That' normal. The dash lights and the tail lights are on the same circuit for sure. If you have no dash light. You probably have no tail lights. That involves a ticket for sure. I had the same problem. I just sprayed some wd40 in the dash headlight switch. Bingo I have dashlights and taillights. Easy fix.
