1981 Other GMC Models STARTER
Engine Mechanical problem
1981 Other GMC Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 80,000 miles
1981 CHEVY TRUCK WITH A REBUILT 1979 MONTE CARLO ENGINE 305 V8 . HASTIATES TO START AFTER WARM. I REPLACED ALTERATOR,STARTER,NEW BATTERY.DO U HAVE ANY SUGESTIONS?IF U DO PLEASE HELP.

In the old days, there were hot restart issues with chevy. Some wired up a ford starter relay on the fender well, diagram below. Because I don't know the exact cause of problem, I can't say the procedure is a fix. The diagram came from chevelles.com. I've seen timing issues that would load the starter to the point it had trouble cranking.

Are you talking about the starter solenoid, you don't have a starter relay. It's possible, it could be the solenoid. Sounds like something is getting too hot?
