1997 GMC Jimmy oil coming from tail pipe

My Jimmy over heated, changed the thermostat. After that it was running rough and notice there was oil coming out of the tail pipe. Can you give me any ideal why?

May have blown a head gasket any coolant loss? Oil look normal? Compression test will tell
