My Jimmy runs poor when I step on the gas, it's like it's not getting the proper amount of air, it started doing this after the distributor was replaced, could it be the timeing? Or the O2 sensor, egr valve, or mass air flow sensor. I've reset everything by disconnecting the battery and it still runs bad, i've noticed that after it's reset and it's running it will shut down when I unplug the air flow sensor, then when I try it without reseting it it does not shut down, could it be something with the computer?

I have a feeling it may be the timing since the distributor was just adjusted, make sure when the #1 cylinder is in tdc the rotor is pointing at the #1 spark plug wire.

Have the ignition timing rechecked with the vehicle running hot and at a certified gmc dealership.
