1998 GMC C1500 noise driving in gear

When driving down the road at 30 mph or even 60mph I have a howl noise. Its loud and sounds like a really loud howl and when I let off the throttle it stops and when I give it acceleration it begins to howl I dont know what to do or where to start

If it stopps when you let off the gas, it sounds like a bearing dealing with the rear differential. Start by checking the ponion bearing. With all tension off the driveshaft, see if there is any up and down play. If thre isn't, the rear differential cover needs to be removed and you need to check for problems there.
