What is the fuel pressure for the vehicle listed above XL model, flex fuel with “Z” eight digit of the VIN, not running and running? I’m trying to diagnose engine stalling while driving. I had 52 PSI just turning the key to on but had 43 PSI while at idle. I have changed the fuel filter. I read somewhere that flex fuel pressures are lower than non flex fuel but 42 PSI at idle seems low. I think it’s my fuel pump, but I’m just trying to eliminate any other things it could be. No trouble codes either. I can go outside right now, and it will start but will stall 15-30 minutes down the road. Loss of power, rough idle, then shuts off. Pull over and will turn over but not start. Wait 10-20 minutes and will start and go for maybe a few blocks. Did that 4-5 times to get it home.

It does sound like the fuel pump is going bad, here are the fuel pressure specs and how to change the pump out in the images below:

Fuel Pressure (Key ON, Engine OFF). 385-425 kPa (55-62 psi)
Fuel Pressure (vin Z). 335-375 kPa (48-54 psi)

Check out the images (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
