Replaced the compressor in the van and charged the system. I may have overcharged system. A/C blew cold for the first few days and now is blowing cool air but not cold. I am afraid that the I blew the seals when I charged the system. Is there a way to check, and if they are bad, how do I repair and recharge?

There is a tool that will "sniff out" freon leaks. However, they are very expensive.

Thanks for the response, but not sure how that answers my question. Is there a way for me to check to see if there is a leak in the line, or as stated in my original question, a way to see if I blew the seals. I hate to pay for "there is a tool, but it is expensive." Maybe I should have used that money toward having an A/C system check?

Hi:
Because freon is a gas, chances are you won't be able to see a leak. The system needs to be recharged and then checked. I wish I could give you a better answer, but that is what needs done.
