engine turning over. engine spits and sputers but will not fire. was intermitent but now will not start at all

Charge the battery makes sure it full
Step on gas all the way down and try to start
If or when it start let go of the pedal
If it doest start I ask when was its last tune up

78,000 miles dont think its been tuned. Car runs great when it does start.

Does the rain effected
If so try a tune up
Also did you have check engine when running
If so scan system and post codes so that will help pin point the trouble area if any
