1996 Ford Thunderbird Door Ajar Light

My door ajar light is on every time I have the key turned forward, but the doors are shut. Is there a sensor on the door anywhere that controls that? Do you have any ideas of what the problem might be?

The light is controled by the same switch as the dome light. If it is staying on but the lights are going out, chances are there is a problem with the body control module (BCM) that is allowing power to the light.
