Engine faulters occasionally whether accelerating or going at a consistent speed. Transmission guy said it had nothig to do with the transmission. Engine actually shuts down occasionally.

P0320 CODE) IGNITION/DISTRIBUTOR ENGINE
SPEED INPUT CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

Could it be any of these?
1 - FORD HAS A BULLETIN OUT ON THIS: TSB #98-23-10 DATED 11/23/98, MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) - SENSOR CONTAMINATION.

2 - THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE FOR FAULT CODES

3 - OXYGEN SENSOR

4 - COIL – LEFT & RIGHT

With this code I would check for good connections at the coil check spark plug wires for good connections. As for you mass air flow question get mass air flow cleaner and remove it and spray it out. You don't have a two way radio in this car do you? If so this will cause the code to come up too.
