Ok, so here goes. There is a problem with the car creates too much pressure I think. Here’s the deal the car was running fine then last Thursday it started to do what I thought was burn oil so I stopped at the gas station and opened the hood I noticed some oil on around the pressure release valve. Not sure if that what it’s called. But is not the oil fill, and its not the PVC valve both are good to go. It seems to me that the engine is overheating; I say this because when you turn off the motor and open up the oil fill cap you can see smoke pouring out. I have checked the coolant levels and did fill it up a little nothing major. I’m not sure what the problem is maybe the water pump, but it’s not making any weird sounds nor has it ever, and as for the thermostat. The gauge in the inside of the car does not go above normal when running. The problem dose get worse as I increase throttle. It has a 2.3L engine if that helps. I would really truly appreciate the help thanks.

You need to physically check this with a mechanical gauge-remove the oil pressure sending unit and hook up the gauge-could be the oil pump's pressure relief valve not opening-
