I have a 1993 Ford Tempo 4 cylinder that has 140,000 miles on it. It has been a great car until recently. It is idiling very high and slamming into gear, especially reverse. It will get up to 45 miles per hour without touching the gas pedal. I have been told it could be idle air control, O2 sensor, and/or throttle sensor/throttle positioning body. Any suggestions.

Any codes? Is check engine light on? If not, try disconnecting the cable from the throttle body, now operater both and see which one sticks, replace the offender! My money is on the cable! Let me know.
