How do I repair the fuel pump in my 1992 ford tempo?

Remove the gas tank. If it's full drain all but about 1 gallon then drop it down, use a spanner wrench or hammer and brass punch to remove the lock ring, pull out the old pump, install new one, reinstall tank.
