I've gotta 93 taurus and am trying to replace the heater core. Unfortunately in order to get it out I need to remove the AC lines that run into the firewall. Can anyone tell me how to do so? I bought the quick disconnect tool, but when I put it on the line and push it toward the car while I pull the line towards the radiator nothing happens. HOw can I get these lines off?

What kind of disconnect tool did you get, there are a couple versions out there. Most people including myself bought the rack of the white plastic ones.
Chances are your AC lines are what you call spring interlock fittings and they need a different disconnect tool then those white plastic ones.

Those type of fittings need the disconnect tool that is usally metal and like clamps around the fitting.

Google fuel/ac disconnect tools and youll see the differences.

I bought the metal tool. I still cant figure out how to get them off. I know that the lines are spring locked. Is there something I need to do with the spring lock in order to get them off there?

You should be able to insert the tool and with a little wiggling the line should pop right apart. Not trying to insult but the a/c system is evacuated right?

If it's not evacuated, you have problems.
