2003 Ford Taurus ball joints

Hi. Can you tell me if it is common for the ball joints to go out on a 2003 Taurus with 65,000 miles on it.

I know I need new tires, and am getting them this weekend. Repair man told me the ball joints need replaced too.

Thank you for any help,
Linda

A lot depends on road conditions in your area...Lot of potholes? My 99 sable needed the right side at 55,000!

Taurus's, since their inception in 86, have always had issues with tie-rods, swaybar bushings, ball joints, front strut-rod bushings, and so forth. Oh yeah, add coil springs and subframe mounts... these are just the minor issues,, I still wouldn't own any other vehicle, lol
