Why does the car shake when it reaches 60 mph

Most likely your tires are out of balance. While going the speed where shake is most noticable, hold steering wheel very lightly. If steering wheel vibrates, imbalance is most likely in the front. If you feel the vibration more in your rump or floorboard, out-of-balance tire(s) are most likely in back.

Either way, make sure tires are wearing evenly.
