Rudpro and Justanold helped me get my AC operating and now I have another issue.

When I place the selector on vent or defrost, the compressor kicks on. It doesn't cycle on and off, it stays on as long as I have it either on vent or defrost. The AC lines even get cold and begin to sweat.

I also noticed that the defrost doesn't get very hot. When I put it on floor, the compressor kicks off and the air gets pretty hot. :?

The AC works great now......

I would check the soldering on the relay you installed. I'm not sure how your vents and blend doors work, if they are electric motors or vacuum operated. If they are electric, they may be tied into the CCRM and you may have put too much solder on the relay where it's bridging another circuit. If that's what it looks like, buy a desoldering tool from Radio Shack. It's about $10. It has a plunger you push down, then heat the solder with your soldering iron holding the desoldering tool next to where your heating, push the button and it sucks the melted solder in. Make sure the solder you put on the relay is not too big of a drop where it's bridging another circuit. The circuits are the silver lines on the board.

If the ac operates in all settings except off, vent, and floor, isn't it suppose to cycle on and off?

I really don't want to tackle taking this thing apart again.. :)

Maybe the $35 the junk yard wants isn't such a bad idea....

I must apologize to Justanold and Rudpro, When I put my damn reading glasses on, I could see that I had the selector on floor/vent. When I put it on just VENT, the compressor didn't come on..

Sorry guys, I'll wear my glasses next time....

Thanks so much for all the assist. It's running great now...
