Hi, i just bought an 96 Ford Taurus GL for my niece, bought it cheap. one of the reasons why was because the odometer, speedometer, trip odometer, radio stopped working at about the same time, per the seller. what would cause this? seems unusual that the odometer would stop working at all, since it's obviously an important function. the seller says she seemed to notice the radio first and then a couple of hours later she notice the sped and odo.
any ideas? thnx!

J found out the trbl was a burnt fuse, rplcd it and sure enough ...i had the radio, speedometer, odometer and trip odo working again!
the fuse was #24 (5 amp, red) on the inside fuse panel, to the left of the brake pedal.
i just wanted to update this in case this helps anyone in the future.

A quick update. My problem was the same on a 1999 Taurus: radio and speedometer. I replaced a 5 amp radio fuse. Worked perfectly. Hope this is helpful to someone.

I have attached the fuse panel diagram (the number 24 fuse circled in red) for anyone who might need that information.
