Computer problem
1996 Ford Taurus Automatic 136000 miles

Lately (not every day) but most days my interior lights will not go out and the dash shows that the doors are open but of course they are closed. I'm assuming it is some kind of computer sensor that's faulty. It is most annoying particularly at night to drive around with the llights on and it often takes hours before they'll eventually go off. Can this be fixed and will it be costly? I'm a single mother and a very limited income and this car is my way to work every day. Thanks very much.

Try this cure, buy a can of brakekleen and a can of spray white lithium grease, spray the latch area, thats the claw in the door where it closes, spray liberally with brakleen, open and close the door 5-6 times, repeat, then spray with the white lube, open and clode the door 5-6 times. Reapeat on all doors.

I sprayed wd-40 to spray in the door, that will also work. Use the straw that comes with wd-40. Spray (every door) inside the door where it latches.
