1995 Ford Taurus My car slowly died over the past six month

8 months ago I replaced my plugs, wires, coil, cap, rotor and fuel filter.

6 months ago the car started idling rough for a few seconds then straightened out on it's own

4-5 months ago it was dying when sitting idle for a few minutes but started back up with no problems

3 months ago it continued to die but became harder to start. Sometimes I would have to let it set for 10-15 minutes before it would start back up. At this point it was only happening at idle.

more recently on top of the other problems listed above it started acting like it wanted to die while I was driving down the road (but never did). It would jerk a couple of times them be fine.

2 weeks ago it shut off right after starting it up in a parking lot. I let it sit for about 10 hours, went back to pick it up and it started fine.

once I got it home and parked I didn't attempt to start it for 2 or 3 days. Now when I try it just cranks but never turns over.

i have heard a thousand things that might be wrong with it but I do not have the time or money to play the elimination game. If you could help me narrow the problem down I would be very grateful!
