I have a 94 Taurus that stalls when the throttle is pressed. Also if it sets for a week or so I have to hit it with a shot of ether in order to get it to start. There are no DTC's that I can get but the Check Engine light stays on all of the time. I just purchased this car for my son to go to College in because of rising Diesel prices so I really would like to try and fix it myself. Here is a list of thing I have already done.

Cleaned MAF (very Dirty)
Checked TPS
Checked Fuel Pressure Regulator and Pump
Checked Fuel Pressure
Removed and cleaned Injectors in Ultrasonic Cleaner
Checked Intake for leaks
Replaced IAM

Thanks in advance,
Steve

you have check engine light on
you need to get the codes
it need a scanner to do so
I would say its the mass air flow sensor
unplug the sensor and give it a drive test
if it improved then replace the mass air flow sensor

spraying it with ether to get it started indicates low fuel pressure or low injector pulse. i would have the fuel pressure checked with a fuel gauge.

Thanks guys for the quick response. I have unpluged the MAF and no change, the engine still will not take throttle. It is a lean problem for sure but I cannot find why. I have checked the fuel pressure with a gauge and it has 40-45psi at all times even when it is stalling. I do not have a code reader and cannot get it to the parts store for them to read it. I have tried to do the self diagnostics test but did not get anything.

Anything else I could check? I will see about getting a scanner but I would like to try other things before I spend that money.

An OBDII scanner will not work on this year so be aware of that
you may visit local shop and ask them to scan it for you
also you may want to check the timing and also catalytic converter ---------Exhaust back pressure
