1991 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 200k miles

When the car is started or running the engine revs will not stop reving. I can push the gas to increase the RPM'S more than what it is already reving

Hello,

Is engine light on? If so will need to pull codes.

If not then will need to look for a Vacuum Leak.
Check all hoses for crack, breaks, etc.
