Leave transmission in car. If installing standard on a engine that had a automatic the only thing you have to do is use the flywheel from the standard motor and you will have to install a pilot bearing into the crankshaft of the new engine. Hope this helps

Correct. The basic blocks are the same. It is the add ons that are different for each application.
