2000 Ford Ranger odometer not working

2000 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive

I have a 2000 ford ranger flex fuel. The odometer just quit working and we cant seem to find out whats keeping it from working. Please help thank you

Normally, a vehicle speed sensor would cause this problem, however, there are no engine lights. Which leads me to believe that, either there is a short in the unit itself or the body control module has a little connection problem, let me know the engine size and I will see if I can dig up something.

My husband pulled the dash and alll that good stuff out and was looking at all the wires, put it back together and its now working. There must have been some kind of connection problem. (WE DO LIVE ON A VERY BUMPY DIRT ROAD) he thinks the dirt road caused a loose connection. The odometer is now working. Thanks for you help. It was very useful.

That'll do it, awesome, because there is really no explaination why just that one thing will stop working, so it had to be a disconnection, from the bumps, . Hey, if you need anything else dont hesitate
