1994 Ford Ranger high idle

While driving the truck acts like the rpms rise when you push in the clutch after engine warms. Fixed intake gaskets, fuel filter, pvc valve is new. Not sure what else to check. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked the idle air control valve (IAC)? Has the check engine light come on?

Check engine light comes on after truck has reached normal operating temp. Have not checked IAC valve.

Sorry about the delay in responding to you. I lost a family member and things have been.

What I need you to do is when the light is on, take the vehicle to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. That should provide a trouble code and point us in the right direction. Most will do it for free.

Let me know what you find.
