best way to explain problem is: few mo. ago truck would not run well, finally found crack between valves in #2 cyl. removed & had repaired & replaced. While running down road, I wide open throttle then let off, Truck dies. Pull off road, or get towed day or so later truck starts. This has happened before & after the head repair. With a friend found it had no spark. Replaced : COIL, ECM OR ECA, ENGINE COMPUTER, #4 INJECTOR, MAP SENSOR, EEC POWER RELAY, DIST MOD, as well as the internal dist parts, AIR CHARGE TEMP SENS,COOLANT TEMP SENS, note: thought there was a prob w/enercia switch so I wired the 2 leads together. ANY help? I'd hate to get rid of this truck.

Hi harley661, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation.

Let's take out the fuel system: Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key On if so check the fuel pressure if its within specs and also if the injectors are pulsing. If not check and test the fuel pump fuse, fuel pump relay, EEC power relay and inertia switch. If everything are okay-Check for spark and then get back with me with some testing results. Let me know

pumps come on w/key, eec comes on, but there is no spark. A while ago this prob came up replaced theTFI-IV ign mod, TWICE. As well as the insides of the dist. It's as if mashing the gas and letting off abruptly in 4th gear causes the TFI mod to die. I believe I will try another TFI mod, This time a MOTORCRAFT one! But if you have any other ideas please let me know asap. Thanks

DIST MOD, as well as the internal dist parts,

Check the distributor pick-up coil resistance and for short to ground.

Last place will be either the ICM or ECU/ECA
