1983 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

My truck turns but no fuel is goin into the carb, the fuel pump is brand new and I changed the timing and serpinting belt as well, new distributar and rouator so i'm lost can u help me

I. Not sure if your truck is fuel injected or carburator. I will assume it is carburated if you have a new pump and the pump is pumping, as in the shaft that operates it is not broken. Remove the line comeing from the tank to the pump crank it over and put your finger over the inlet hole do you feel suction

if yes then follow the line back to the tank look for wet spots on it you may have a broken line.

It has a carb and I already checked all the fuel lines and still nothing, I think its in the block its self that the problem is but I just don't know what to look for

Hi. There is a shaft that operates the fuel pump, on the 4 cyl it is operated by the intermediate shaft. Remove the pump shine a flash light in the hole where pump mounts, slowly by hand turn eng, you are looking at a lobe it should be raised on one side like a camshaft lobe.

If it is perfectly ronnd the lobe is worn down. You can replace the shaft or put a low pressure elec fuel pump on it. Thanks billymac
