Electrical problem
1993 Ford Probe 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 140k miles

here is aprevious question, and your answer.

Question: 1997 Ford Probe mileage: 102,000. The car quit while my wife was driving. I am not getting any fire from the distributor. I tried another distributor, crank position sensor, relay and PCM. Still cannot get any fire at the plugs.

Answer: Check the timing belt as it may have failed and consequently the distributor may not be rotating.

The timing belt is fine.
what else could it be.
I have the same problem.

Do you have input power to the coil

Test the ignition coil primary and secondary windings-

Double check the ignition coil primary and secondary windings-I've been here before with MX6's and Mazda 626 engines the fix is a new distributor.

BTW is this a 2.5L engine

I tried a new (rebuilt) distributor today, with no success.
I see the check engine and fuel cutoff lights on the dash when I turn the key on.
Could it be the PCM?

Thanik you for your reply. Very much appreciated, because I am lost.
