WAS RUNNING ROUGH AND IDLE WAS ERRATIC FOR ALONG WHILE. STARTER NOW CRANKING BUT NOT STAYING ENGAGED ALL OF THE TIME. PROBABLY DAMAGED FROM LONG CRANKING TO GET CAR STARTED. CAR WILL NOT START EVEN WHEN CRANKING. CHECKED ENGINE CODES TWO CODES CAME UP. OXYGEN SENSOR AND EGR SENSOR SOLENOID. CODES 17 AND 28. HOW DO I REPAIR THESE CODES AND WILL FIXING ONE CODE AFFECT THE OTHER. DOES STARTER PROBLEM AFFECT THE CODES

First of all the rough idling could more then likely be from the egr code. If it is stock open then the vehicle will be getting too much exhaust gases and will not run properly when idling, the o2 sensor code could be to blame also but will not affect starting of the vehicle as it will be in closed loop and doesnt not take any information from them till its warmned up.

Starter wont affect hthose codes. And I dont think those codes has the problem of your no start problem.

Try unhooking o2 sensors and egr valve solenoid and try to start it after you get the no cranking problem looked at, because if the starter isnt functinoing the vheicle wont be runnig.
