I have installed double cables from the battery to the starter this is a replacement engine [ Jasper engine] If I wait 15 or 20 minutes it will most of the time startI have tried timing changes as well but to no avail. I also used insulate material on the starter I had a professinal install the engine Please help

Does your ground (negative) cable get hot when trying to start? How far does the battery voltage drop. The old rule, the lower the voltage-the higher the amperage

Need a high torque starter go to local alt/starter shop ask to have one built. Larger field coils will whip that baby over lower amp draw.
