First the truck won't start with the ignition, to start I have to open the ignition switch, then go to the front of the truck and hot wire the starter solenoid, once the truck starts the abs light comes on. As I drive down the road the transmission don't want to shift. And starts to jump low to high, and vice, versa. Then the over drive light comes on and the overdrive light switch starts blinking. I checked all the fuses, tried a new ignition switch and still the same, so I took out the new ignition switch and put back the old one.I don't know what else to do. Thank you.

Hello,

It sounds like the starting issue is due to a faulty starter solenoid. As you are able to start it by crossing the solenoid posts, it means there is a malfunction within the solenoid.

As for the shifting issue, it could be due to low or contaminated fluid. It can also be due to faulty pressure control solenoid.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
